Josh Garrett is a Louisiana-born songwriter, singer, and guitarist whose soulful blend of blues and roots music is steeped in the culture of his home state. Born in New Roads and raised in Houma, Josh first picked up his father’s guitar at age 12 and began writing songs soon after. By 20, he was already performing several nights a week around Houma, honing the raw, heartfelt style that would become his trademark.

At 24, Josh released his debut album Changed Man and quickly hit the road with his band, building a loyal regional following. A move to Nashville in 2008 expanded his reach, and in 2009 he released the double live album Live on Printer’s Alley. By 2010, Josh had returned to Louisiana, where he recorded String of Problems (2011), an album that climbed to #1 on the Roots Music Louisiana Blues Charts and held the #1 spot for two consecutive weeks on American Blues Scene’s “Blues Top Five."

Garrett’s latest release, Honey for My Queen, further showcased his ability to marry swampy grooves, fiery guitar work, and heartfelt songwriting. His dedication to the craft and relentless touring have cemented him as one of Louisiana’s most respected contemporary blues artists.

Today, Josh brings that same fire and authenticity to Doussan Garrett Benoit, alongside Mike Doussan and Tyron Benoit. Together, the trio is crafting original music and reimagined covers that highlight South Louisiana’s culture and spirit, carrying the region’s sound to stages near and far.
